Job Descriptions
This position is responsible for ensuring the application and enforcement of our safety standards so that every team member goes home safe each day. The Safety Representative will help to identify areas where improvements can be made to ensure the health and well-being of everyone on the jobsite and play an active role in developing new safety protocols or procedures.
The SR is primarily responsible for enforcement of safety and health rules on the jobsite as required by federal, state, and local laws. The duties of the SSR include but are not limited to;
Responsibilities
- Conduct a Job Hazard Analysis, ensuring all employees have read, understood, and signed the JHA.
- Enforce safety rules on the jobsite as required.
- Conduct inspections of their work area and ensure all hazards are being controlled.
- Attending the weekly Jobsite safety walks, audit with General Contractor.
- Discipline employees per the Site Zero Tolerance Policy and company regulations.
- Conduct safety training and awareness programs such as Fall Protection, Ladder Safety, Respirator, Scaffold training and other relevant topics.
- Conduct investigations into accidents or incidents to determine causes and contributing factors and recommend solutions to prevent similar incidents in the future.
- The SSR shall accompany any injured worker that requires medical attention to the Project site-specific clinic. (Owner Controlled Insurance Program OCIP) (Contractor Controlled Insurance Programs CCIP)
- Generate relevant and accurate reports and establish and maintain all required job safety records.
- (Safety Culture Audits, Accident reports, Safety Violation Warnings and Toolbox meetings)
- Maintain records of any unsafe conditions in the workplace that need to be addressed.
- Ensure all safety equipment is in good condition and available for use.
- Conduct formal weekly jobsite inspections and complete safety checklists noting safety violations and corrective action.
- Monitor employee compliance with safety policies and procedures.
- Assist project superintendent/foreman in establishing and implementing proper fall protection, scaffolding, and painting control procedures.
- Perform periodic project audits with regards to compliance with all OSHA and Carrco safety requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- 1-3 years minimum experience in construction safety (Commercial Construction Preferred)
- OSHA 10-Hour and 30-Hour certifications within the last 4 years
- Current First aid CPR certification
- OSHA 3115 Fall Protection
- OSHA 3085 Principles of Scaffolding
- OSHA 2015 Hazardous Materials
- OSHA 2225 Respiratory Protection
- Bilingual: Spanish/English
- Experience using Excel, Procore, Outlook, and Autodesk Build (PlanGrid Application)
- Strong attention to detail with a dedication to accuracy
- Some travel required.
